HELP ROCHESTER MAINTAIN ITS URBAN FOREST: Contribute to the Reforest Rochester Fund A Tradition of Trees  Trees that grace our neighborhoods with small town hominess and lend Rochester a park-like beauty are part of our heritage. You can help preserve this beauty for generations-to-come.
Rochesterians believe their trees must not be taken for granted. To address that concern, the Reforest Rochester Fund & Commemorative Program has been established to accept donations for park, cemetery and street plantings. This tradition of tree plantings, that started over century ago, today lends our community a graciousness among urban settings. As far back as 1888, the City appointed a Parks Commission and began a street tree planting program. Over the decades, that vision helped preserve Rochester's leafy canopy along tree-lined streets and in tree-filled parks. Despite the devastating Dutch Elm disease of the 1960's and the disastrous ice storm of 1991, our urban forest has thrived through continued tree plantings and because of the importance placed on city trees within the Rochester community. Your gift of funds today can help maintain Rochester as a "City in a Forest" and the living legacy of trees for future Rochesterians. Reforest Rochester Fund and Commemorative Program Donation to the Fund of any amount will be accepted and 100% will be used for plantings. CONTRIBUTOR - Contributors of $10 and up to $250 will be listed in an advertisement to appear each Arbor Day (the last Friday in April). DONOR - Those who contribute between $250 and $1000 will be designated as Donors. Each will receive a certificate, as well as inclusion in the Arbor Day advertisement. In this category, gifts may be given to commemorate an event or to honor someone. As a donor, you may choose whether your gift helps to reforest a City park or cemetery or goes into the general reforestation effort. The donor will also have the option of sending notification to the person being honored. PATRON - Corporate organizational and individual donors of $1000 or over will be listed as Patrons and receive all benefits as stated under the Donor category, plus inclusion of their name in a commemorative album placed in the City Historian's Office.
